This upcoming Thursday, November 4, 2010, Ale
Atlanta will meet at the Five,
West, (Upstairs in the Sky Bar),
at 7:30 PM. This time we will be tasting Barelywines!
My "Honorary Ale Atlanta Vice President", Russ Yates, will get
the party started at 7:30 PM with my "Magic Cooler" full of vintage aged
BW's while I will be winging my way into the Atlanta airport after a
business trip to the Ludwig Drum factory in Monroe, NC, and a Beer Journey
side trip to Asheville, NC. I should be able to score some fine Barleywines not
yet available in our area to bring to the meeting for a special
treat.
Some Commercial Examples include:
19-B English Barleywine: Thomas Hardy’s Ale, Burton Bridge
Thomas Sykes Old Ale, J.W. Lee’s Vintage Harvest Ale, Robinson’s Old Tom,

Don't have any Barleywine? Hustle on down to
your favorite package store and grab some of the great Barleywines that are
available in our local market!
Don't like Barleywines? Then bring some of your
other favorite styles of beer! Just bring something good!
Just bring SOMETHING!
And remember, home-brew is always welcome!
Ale Atlanta is a beer appreciation and
social club. There are no member dues. Just show up thirsty, and
bring some interesting beer to share with the group. It is just a bunch of
beer lovers getting together to enjoy quality beers and quality
people.
Don't forget to "Be Hip and Leave a
Tip!"
We will be tying up some poor server's tables with
Barleywine Besotted Beer Geeks, and they all need money because they all
need gas so they can get to the polls to vote on Tuesday, so be sure to toss in
a little extra.
